Mechanics and mechatronics

Here, you find a section related to purely mechanical subjects like motorbike restoration as well as a section covering electromechanical subjects like 3D-printers, motorised telescopes and such. MechanicsMechatronics

Software

Here you’ll find all the non-tangible stuff like software and web-tech. Actually, there’s also a section for what might be called jello-ware, as it’s neither soft nor hard. It’s FPGA; system-putty. Subpages: FPGA

This area is a bit of a garage sale at the moment. One might say it’s ‘Under construction’ 😉 TravelKnowledgeLeisure

Mechanicality – huh?

This website is on the move. Thus, expect it to not-work here and there.

I have an urge to examine mechanical contraptions, trying to figure out how they work.  I’m not at all sure it’s a control-thing; rather I think it’s curiosity on its own or a desire to understand the subject. In any case, I’ve been taking apart – and most often successfully putting together – everything from alarm clocks to car engines as far back as I can remember.

So, in the beginning, this website started out revolving around mechanicality.  Nothing specific, yet everything in particular. Views on serviceability of todays consumer products on one end of the scale and nittygritty specifics on which self-locking washers are the best on the other end.

Inevitably (obviously?), I couldn’t limit myself to mechanicals only. So now the site also has pages on electronics, software and astronomy, recently accompanied by pages on travelling and motorcycles. Also, there’s less fact-based areas like Desmond Morris‘ studies on human behaviour.  Or photography – the art, not the technique. So much to discover.

Just knowing why brings me joy. And sharing that knowledge doubles the joy.

Note: The writings presented here are NOT a complete record of what I do. I write for fun and when I feel like writing.
